Compare two images, step by step

1. Choose two images with the same displayed pixel dimensions.
2. Set a threshold: a higher number ignores smaller color changes.
3. Compare the files and download the map. Pink areas show differences above the threshold.

Find visible changes between versions

A difference map helps locate edits in matching screenshots, graphics or image exports. The first image supplies the pale background, and pink highlights mark changed pixels. The percentage describes working pixels whose largest RGB-channel difference exceeds the threshold. It is not a measure of meaning, image quality or similarity of the subjects.

Keep comparison conditions consistent

Both inputs must have the same dimensions. Large inputs are reduced to a working width of up to 2,400 pixels and the usual output limits before comparison. Compression noise, browser text rendering and small alignment changes can create many differences. Transparent areas are compared over white, so hidden RGB values behind fully transparent pixels are ignored.

File support and export limits

Use static JPG, PNG or WebP files. HEIC, GIF, SVG and animated images are not supported. Each file can be up to 25MB and 40 million pixels; a batch can total up to 120MB. Image exports are limited to 16 million pixels and 8,192 pixels on either edge. These limits can reduce large images. PDF pages use re-encoded images.
